VFW Post 2667

Taking care of our Veterans this morning with COVID vaccines & snacks & water at the Newnan VA Clinic

At last count we had at least 27 VFW and Auxiliary members out here running, walking, working, supporting... And that doesn't count the Legion, SAL, Legion Aux and Marine Corps League members. Great turn out!

This will be an exciting convention for Post 2667! Our teachers will be recognized and we have officers involved in the State elections! Lots of great info! Be there!

Our Elementary Teacher of the Year was Myra Coursey from Jefferson Parkway Elementary School. Myra is a K-5 Music Teacher who continually promotes patriotism through music to her students. The organizations of the Coweta Veterans Club hosted the local Guard's Military Ball. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a success!

Big shout out to the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary for their support of the annual CVC golf tournament! Always working, always appreciated!

Our VFW Auxiliary is collecting clean, gently used coats and hoodies for men, women and children to distribute to those in need for the winter. Great turn-out! This guy rode his motorcycle and wore four jackets to donate them...

Well, we had our meeting to try and re-establish a Ladies Auxiliary. After contacting the entire post membership and notifying them of the meeting, we had exactly two women show up. Unfortunately they are both already life members and don't count towards the 20 NEW members needed to re-establish. We won't be having a Ladies Auxiliary at this time.

During the Post's monthly meeting, Post 2667 voted to re-establish a Ladies Auxiliary. The next step is for the Ladies to come up with at least 20 new or former members (transfers do not count). There will be a kick-off meeting in conjunction with our next monthly meeting on Thursday, September 14th @ 7:30p at the Coweta Veterans Club. Eligibility is open to wives, widows, mothers, foster & stepmothers (who performed the duties of parent), grandmothers, daughters, granddaughters, foster & stepdaughters (who attained that status prior to the age of 16 and for whom the duties of parent were performed), sisters, half sisters, foster & stepsisters (who attained that status prior to the age of 16) of persons who were or are eligible for the VFW. Women eligible for the VFW are also eligible for the Ladies Auxiliary. Applicants must be US citizens and at least 16 years of age.
